GUIDELINES FOR SEARCHING THE CATALOG
Search Relevant Words Enter
as many RELEVANT words as you can. Search words can be from author's
name, the title, or the subject. Records with ALL searched words are
listed first. Small, common words [“noise words”] (A, AN, THE, BY, FOR)
will not be searched.
Wildcard Symbol You
can use a "wildcard" symbol, the asterisk *, to search for words that
start with a string of letters or will substitute for any single letter
in the middle of a word. For example: techn* will find technology,
technical, technician, etc. wom*n will find woman and women.
Avoid Using Only Common Words Avoid
using just common words, or combine them with less common or more
unique words. For example, CATS would retrieve many more records than
SIAMESE CATS.
Keep Trying, but remember, You Can Ask for Help Capitalization, word order, and punctuation are not important. Keep trying till you find what you want, or ask for help.
